Picture this: 20+ years of magical moments with children, and I still get butterflies walking into those bustling early childhood classrooms! Since diving into Early Care and Education leadership in 2013, I've shaken things up with fresh perspectives and ideas to help spark real growth in educators. I’ve done a lot of inner work and self-reflection, to perfect the art of living in a growth mindset, better attune with those around me, welcome feedback, and focus on changing myself in order to lead and inspire others. I firmly believe it is better to be learning than knowing!
My sweet spot? Helping educators, coaches, and administrators discover their superpowers in building rock-solid relationships with each other, children and families, important stakeholders, and learning how to really attune with themselves and children! By turning classroom challenges into opportunities, focusing inward, and creating spaces where everyone feels like they belong, educators can turn their classrooms into joyful, thriving, collaborative communities!
I'm all about leading straight from the heart - no filters, just real talk and genuine connections! In my free time, you’ll catch me crushing video game levels with my son while our chihuahua cheers us on. I love reading, making jewelry, visiting museums and cultural events, exploring Utah and foreign/unfamiliar places, and eating/shopping local. Total nerd alert: I can't get enough of learning what's new in ECE and related fields. Early Care and Education is not just what I do - it's a core part of who I am!
"Children reflect both the best, and worst parts of ourselves back to us... are you paying attention?"
~Jamie Galloway
"Jamie is incredibly knowledgeable and retains information on so many subjects. She will know research, facts, and practical solutions for all things Early Childhood Education on a whim and if she doesn’t, she will find it for you! Jamie is so animated and engaging, she's a wonderful storyteller. She isn't afraid to jump out of her comfort zone, especially when working directly with children and teachers. Jamie isn't afraid to show her imperfections and quirks- she will show up with a ukulele she's never touched, learn a song for the children and sing without hesitation, no matter how good/bad it is! She is fiercely genuine and authentic and her enthusiasm is infectious.
-Morgan Mosher
"Jamie is passionate about everything she does! She is so knowledgeable about so many things and loves to share that knowledge with whomever it will benefit. When approaching any problem or challenge, she takes time to reflect on how she can tailor her approach to be the most effective in brainstorming and applying solutions."
-Madi Parkinson
"Jamie is a wealth of knowledge in E.C.E., specifically in classroom management. She provides educators with tools and resources to support their growth in mindfulness, connection and relationship building with students and families. I have seen Jamie excel in the art of pausing and listening, giving feedback in manageable pieces, and personalizing support based on the individual and specific context of a problem."
-Monica McCary, Curriculum Specialist
"My impression of Jamie Galloway is that she cares deeply about creating supportive and welcoming environments for children and center staff. She is very creative and adaptive regarding solving novel problems and finding ways to engage effectively with others. A relevant skillset that I observed Jamie actively cultivate is her ability to regulate her internal responses in order to respond mindfully to whatever management crisis the day might bring."
-McCall Lyon, PsyD, The Children's Center Utah
"Jamie is a very passionate, lifelong learner. She fully researches issues and shares her findings with the team. Jamie has a great knack for observing a classroom and getting a quick read on what may be contributing to challenges. She has focused heavily on self-reflection over the past few years and continues to master and model the art of pausing in challenging situations and breaking down tasks into small, actionable steps."
