
High-acuity Travel Labor & Delivery RN with multi-state contract experience in Level II–IV NICU facilities and Level III Trauma centers. Experienced in high-volume units (70–500 births/month), 1:1–1:2 labor ratios, advanced EFM interpretation, circulating C-sections, postpartum float coverage, and newborn stabilization. Clinically strong, adaptable, and experienced in academic and high-risk obstetric settings.
● Preoperatively admit patients for surgical procedure. Verifying that pre-admit testing has been completed and results reported to
anesthesiologist, physician, and cleared for surgery
● Obtain surgical and anesthesia consent on day of surgery, start PIV, administer IV fluids, and medication per physician orders or anesthesia protocol
● Ensure vitals and labs are within normal limits and report
abnormalities to physician and anesthesiologist before procedure
● Assist anesthesiologist in preoperative nerve blocks
● Recover patients from the OR with orthopedic surgeries including knee, shoulder, hand, elbow, foot, ankle surgeries, and epidural steroid injections
● Postoperatively receive patient from anesthesia and nurse and obtain report, maintain airway, monitor vitas, surgical site, and pain level
● Ensure patient safety until stable per anesthesia protocol, give discharge instructions to to patient and family member verifying understanding and follow up appointment
● Discharge patient home when stable per anesthesia protocol
● Knowledge of organizational policies, procedures, systems, and objectives
● Delivers collaborative patient centered care with input from medical director, anesthesia team, and nursing staff in planning and implementing
● Lead nurse in the transition of paper charting to computer charting
