This position is dedicated to administering the AmeriCorps grants that are pass-through federal funds awarded to community-based organizations. AmeriCorps grants award authorized positions and funding to support individuals who serve. This position is responsible for issuing the cooperative agreement, doing annual risk assessment, monitoring financial and program performance, identifying noncompliance and corrective actions, and all other oversight tasks associated with grant program management including federal performance and compliance reporting.
Develops and maintains expertise in regulations, exemplary program practices, and emerging opportunities/challenges in the field of national and community service to develop recommendations on grantmaking policies.
Administers contracts and grants to manage and monitor the expenditure of funds as well as regulatory compliance in relation to established performance objectives, goals, and benchmarks.
Determines degree of grantee compliance with program policies and regulations as well as requirements for grantee management/expenditure of federal funds.
Conducts annual on-site or desk monitoring reviews of grantees to determine fiscal and programmatic compliance with regulations, reports results to Commission oversight task force, developed and ensured execution of corrective action plans.
Consults with Commission members and staff colleagues, assesses program performance, and designs new systems to monitor progress toward objectives.
