Jan Smith

I started in 2023 working with 7th and 8th grade math students. I would push into the room and work individually with the students along with the teacher. They could come to me during the day for one on one tutoring.

In 2024 I was asked to do ISS for 5 -8 grades. While in ISS I would work with the students one on one in math on current topics.

This past spring I was an assistant JV softball coach for Lawrence County High School.

• Overseer of a student teacher in a self-contained 3rd-grade class. I ended up teaching the class until Thanksgiving.
• Maternity leave in 5th-grade math from Thanksgiving until the end of school.
• pushed into the 4th -6th grade math classes, helping individual students with their work.
• Coached Hatton's 8th-grade volleyball team
• Worked with staff members and teachers to design comprehensive and individualized plans to optimize student education.

• 1986 to 2006, taught physical education k-8.
• Started the volleyball program
• 2007, taught keyboarding and Office to 8th grade.
• 2008, Pushed into the 8th grade math class, helping in pre-algebra and algebra one. I
• tutor during the students' enrichment time.
• Assistant softball coach at East Lawrence High School.
