Continue with all of the job duties of the housing specialist and added the following.

  • Coordinated eviction efforts for tenants involved in criminality and other lease violations.
  • Involved in non eviction efforts for tenants who are delinquent in their rent. I often coordinate the tenant with a local charity that will provide grant funds etc. to the tenant to stop the eviction.
  • I coordinate potential tenants with local agencies to provide funding for the security and first month rent to obtain housing. Often the tenant at the top of the waitlist is homeless and does not have the resources to enter housing.
  • I often speak with tenants and share my knowledge of who can help with food insecurities and other resources within the community.
  • Contribute to team success by actively participating in staff meetings and sharing best practices with my coworkers.
  • Conduct home and apartment inspections to identify safety issues and needed repairs.
  • Manage 331 caseloads efficiently as possible by staying motivated, focused and prioritizing the task ensuring completion of the required documentation and/or problem at hand.
