Provided insurance quotes for current and new customers to the agency. Completed transactions for insurance premiums and for newly bound polices. Answered phone calls and greeted customers, new and old to our office. Built strong client relationships through consistent communication and effective problem solving.
Provided first point of contact for students seeking their GED/HSED and English Language Learning courses. While in this role, I worked alongside the College Navigator and the instructors in the GED/HSED/ELL departments. Scheduled assessments, as part of the orientation process and provided assistance to the navigator and instructors, when needed. Many daily tasks were involved, including tracking students work on computer, including entering course registrations and test scores, as well as time clock editing, for each student enrolled. This position involved working with other departments within the Business Education Center. It was an opportunity to create friendships with students from diverse backgrounds, which helped me grow and learn, while providing a caring environment.
As a dedicated team member in the original Information Service Center at BEC, I provided service to students, alumni, and the general public. This role also involved working with various departments in the college, such as, Advising, Financial Aid, Records and Registration and Admissions. My position began as part-time/flex, and eventually was able to secure full-time position in this department. I was able to learn an abundance of information in all areas of the college, to help provide the most accurate information to our students and the public. After eight years, I was then transitioned to a new position, within the Academic Development & Adult Ed and College Prep.
