
I am a first grade teacher who has been in the classroom for 11 years. I have worked with hundreds of students. It has been my goal to reach each student where they are at, both academically and emotionally, and help them make personal progress throughout the year. I enjoy creating fun and engaging lessons that meet all students' needs.
Prior to teaching, I was a stay at home mother for 20 years. My proudest accomplishment is loving and raising my four children and watching them become strong, happy,
and successful adults.
Organized curriculum to meet Diocese of Madison standards.
Planned and executed daily lesson plans in reading, writing, spelling, grammar, math, social studies, science, and religion for self-contained classroom.
Assessed students' progress and needs, and adjusted lessons to meet those needs.
Provided students with a stimulating and warm learning environment.
Met with parents to advocate for their students and find ways we could work together to meet their needs.
Responsible for completing report cards three times a year, holding parent/teacher conferences twice a year to discuss academic and social progress, and provided consistent communication with families through weekly newsletters.
Collaborated with primary teachers and administrators to build a strong, cohesive Primary Unit to best meet the needs of students and families.
Responsible for classroom budget and purchasing/ordering classroom materials.
Attended weekly and monthly staff meetings.
Responsible for planning Primary Unit meetings and working with new teachers in our unit.
Planned and participated in events to showcase students and school to parents.
