PACU Phase I &II (Post Anesthesia Care Unit) and Post Surgery Care

• Recovers all mentioned diagnoses and surgeries
• Responsible for holding ICU patients in PACU when no beds are available
• Some surgeries included but not limited to: abdominal aneurysm repair, carotid endarterectomy, open heart surgery, fem-pop bypasses, cardiac cath/stents, AICD/pacemakers, thoracotomies, lobectomies, amputations, knee/hip replacements, broken bones and fracture repairs
• Collaborates with perioperative team, anesthesiologists, and surgeons for continuum of patient care and timely discharge
• Monitors patient's condition, including post-op vitals, reactions to medications and IV therapies, interprets and tracks EKG readings, identifies irregular telemetry readings, and updates team members on changes in stability or acuity
• Documents all elements of care and updates patients' EMR to reflect changes in care plans, interventions applied, and observations
• Guides and educates patients and caregivers including course of care, medications, and discharge instructions

PEDIATRICS

• Observed and monitored pediatric patient's symptoms and vital signs
• Administered medication and other doctor-recommended treatment plans
• Advised pediatric patients and their parents on medication and at-home care instructions
• Followed all federal, state, and local nursing regulations; standards; and policies,

MED-SURG/TELE

• Monitored patients' conditions, including interpreting and tracking EKG readings, identifying irregular telemetry readings and updating team members on changes in stability and acuity
• Administered medications and treatments to patients and monitored responses while working with healthcare teams to adjust care plans
• Collaborated with physicians to quickly assess patients and deliver appropriate treatment while managing rapidly changing conditions

ICU
