I was promoted from postal clerk to Postmaster. As a Postmaster I was elected to serve on the state board for the National Association of Postmasters. I also participated in lobbying my Senator and Congressman for the postal service in Washington DC every February.
I have excellent time management and problem solving abilities. I was responsible for opening and closing facility and managing office's inventory. Currently I teach life classes at the Well of Columbia and 2nd Chance Rehab once a week. I served on the ladies board at my church for 10 years. We planned events and decorated each event. We served annual dinners for 120 women.
I served customers daily with all their postal needs. I made daily deposits. I sorted and cased all mail and packages. I had daily scans to perform by certain times. I managed mail carrier employees, set schedules and completed payroll every two weeks. I maintained the building and paid bills. I had a budget for my office. My annual raise was based on my performance. I worked for 26 years. The postal service downsized and they changed my job from a full time postmaster to a part time clerk. They offered me early retirement.
