    Today, I received notification that I had received the OVERALL award!

    Since 2007, Highmark has the honor of being one of the few companies with the privilege to award our employee volunteers with the Jefferson Awards for Public Service. This award is America’s highest honor for public service, a “Nobel Prize for public service.” For more than 41 years, the award has recognized “Who’s Who” of American change-makers and unsung heroes in communities across the country.

    Nominations are reviewed anonymously by a committee of employees from Highmark and each Highmark subsidiary. At the culmination of the program, 12 nominees are chosen as Highmark Jefferson Award Recipients. Each award recipient receives a Jefferson Award medallion and a monetary contribution to the nonprofit organization of their choice. One overall award winner will be chosen to attend and represent Highmark at the national Jefferson Awards ceremony in Washington, D.C.

    And I was chosen! Me as the overall winner! I can't believe it! If you google the award you will be shocked just as I am...I am truly blessed and thank all of my friends and family for their amazing continued support! Above all their patience and for hanging in there with me through the good and the bad! I thank GOD for this “Nobel Prize for public service.”
