I grew up with a severely disabled brother who was not allowed to attend school until the age of 10. It became my passion to advocate for the needs of students who had not been given the same opportunities as their peers. At the age of 22, I made it my mission to one day open an adult program for those with moderate to severe disabilities that would continue to educate, build functional skills and have meaningful outcomes. In particular, I wanted to start a day program that was outdoors and offered vocational training in farming and agriculture skills. The intent was to modify all activities so that any client would be able to participate.
My focus has always been to meet the needs of students educationally and emotionally using diverse techniques for learning
