I performed hands-on underground utility construction with a primary focus on installing storm, sanitary sewer, and underground power systems. My daily responsibilities included operating excavators, loaders, backhoes, and skid steers to excavate trenches, install utilities, backfill, compact, and restore job sites while maintaining production goals and quality standards.

I regularly installed storm drain pipe, sanitary sewer mains, catch basins, manholes, power conduit, vaults, forming, pouring red dye concrete, and related underground infrastructure. I read construction plans, grade stakes, and cut sheets to ensure utilities were installed at the correct line, grade, depth, and elevation. I worked closely with survey crews and inspectors to verify installations met project specifications and municipal standards.

A significant part of my work involved excavation safety and trench protection. I was directly involved in setting, moving, and removing trench boxes and hydraulic shoring systems, ensuring protective systems were properly positioned before anyone entered an excavation. I monitored trench conditions, recognized hazards such as unstable soil and groundwater, maintained safe access and egress, and followed OSHA trenching and excavation requirements throughout each phase of the project.

In addition to operating heavy equipment, I performed manual labor including pipe installation, bedding preparation, laser grade checks, utility tie-ins, compaction, and site cleanup. I worked safely around existing underground utilities, coordinated with crew members to complete installations efficiently, performed daily equipment inspections, and maintained a strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and producing high-quality work on every project.

Operated a variety of heavy equipment, including front-end loaders, haul trucks, and excavators, to support aggregate production and crushing plant operations. Primarily operated a front-end loader to feed raw rock material into the crushing plant, ensuring a continuous supply of material to maximize plant productivity and meet production goals.

Performed loading operations for customer trucks and trailers with finished aggregate products while maintaining accurate load sizes and safe loading practices. Operated haul trucks to transport raw materials throughout the quarry and job site, supporting efficient material movement and production schedules. Assisted with the operation, maintenance, and repair of the crushing and screening plant by helping replace wear parts, clear material blockages, perform routine preventative maintenance, and maintain a clean and safe work area. Conducted daily pre- and post-operation equipment inspections, identified mechanical issues, reported needed repairs, and performed basic maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and safe operations. Maintained a strong commitment to safety by following company policies, conducting routine equipment inspections, communicating effectively with plant operators and crew members, and safely operating heavy machinery in a fast-paced production environment while consistently meeting quality and standards. Maintained compliance with MSHA safety standards while operating heavy equipment and performing plant maintenance.
