I have been involved professionally in the cattle industry for two decades. Leadership, dynamic thinking, strategic vision, network building, and intrinsic motivation are core competencies that have suited me well along my path toward continual professional development. My background in education has been an asset providing the necessary skill set to teach, work collaboratively, accurately assess aptitudes and personas, and encourage open communication. I am very comfortable speaking from a leadership position and providing detailed feedback for professional development, as well as, organizing targeted educational experiences. Cultivation of strategic partnerships and valuable industry relationships are something I believe in greatly, execute well, and enjoy. Through understanding the importance of people, finely tuned marketing strategies, and dedication to hard work, I have effectively turned three start-ups into successful companies. I spend a significant amount of time strategizing, executing, and analyzing branding and marketing initiatives. However, I spend equal amounts of time working within the field. The men and women I’ve worked with the last 15 years, from ranch to packer, have provided me with invaluable, first-hand observations of behaviors, lifestyles, values, and personality types. This has provided me with insights into how to engage and connect with each to build relationships critical to successful strategic execution of initiatives. This may be one of the most important components for any company that has a future linked to the creation and serviceability of an integrated business that will cross a highly segmented industry. In closing, I am aware that my network is still growing and will require additional expansion toward potential partners, as well as continued development of leadership and personnel management skills.
