  • As a SGT I am the direct supervisor for approximately 16 police offiers and SWAT operators
  • Assigned and supervised subordinates to prevent crime, protect life and property and enforce laws.
  • For the patrol division in the department, I supervise shifts, respond to high risk, high liability 911 calls
  • I approve reports, sign
  • And approve training, manage the schedule, time sheets, and other various management aspects such as, completing supervisor investigation reports and completing on the job injury reports
  • I am also a certified notary and approve and notarize numerous legal documents such as a sworn a davit or arrest warrant applications
  • As a SGT on the SWAT team I am the teams designated "Point man" for the entry cell
  • I create lesson plans and training syllabus'
  • I delegate scout operations for upcoming operations and prepare team briefings
  • I am responsible for serialized gear such as tactical vest and armor, Kevlar helmets, short barreled rifles and suppressors

Executive Security Detail (Sergeant)

  • As a member of the Executive Security Detail, I maintained entrances and access point post at the State Capitol
  • I would screen anyone entering the premise and ensure no weapons were brought into the building
  • I would also stand post at the Colorado Supreme Court and escort the Supreme Court Justice' to and from the parking locations as well as to and from the chambers
  • I would conduct routine foot patrol of the interior and exterior of State Government buildings, prepare and clear a travel path for the Governor when entering the building or exiting the Capitol
  • I was responsible for on-boarding new security detail personnel as their Field Training Officer, and insured they were trained properly to execute the security duties required by the state.
  • Oversaw team of security officers and managed scheduling and performance evaluations.
  • Conducted frequent security audits to identify potential problems related to physical security, staff safety, and asset protection.
  • Collaborated with management to develop security policies and procedures.
  • Supervised and evaluated security staff performance to determine compliance with safety regulations.

  • As a United States Marine I completed boot camp with honors selected as "Series Honorman" and was awarded the "Leatherneck" award resulting in being meritoriously promoted to Private First Class
  • I completed the School of Infantry and was ranked number 1 in the company with an honorary title "Company Honorman"
  • I was placed in 1st Marine Division 2nd Battalion 7th Marine regiment, an infantry battalion located in 29 Palms CA
  • I was deployed to Kuwait in February of 2004 where we trained in Security and Stability Operations (SASO) as well as Military Operations in Urban Terrain (MOUT) and Close Quarter Battle (CQB)
  • We then deployed to Al- Assad Iraq
  • We maintained a forward operating base in the city of Hit and were part of numerous historical operations in Ramadi, Fallujah (Operation Vigilant Resolve), and Baghdadi
