As an athlete, throughout my high-school and collegiate career I gained a few accolades and accomplishments to recognize my work ethic and dedication to my craft. Through three years of high-school I gained all-state catcher and defensive player of the year for our district, while also graduating with honors with the National Honors Society.
After receiving a scholarship to Stephen F. Austin State University to continue my education and baseball career, I worked even harder to be at the top of each position. I was a four year letter at the university, while in the last three I was nominated for the Johnny Bench/Buster Posey "best catcher in college baseball" Award.

During my junior and senior season I was recognized as one of the best catchers in college baseball on the Johnny Bench Award watchlist and the Buster Posey Award watchlist.
