I am currently a team lead at the Caterpillar Mapleton Foundry melting department, with about 6 years of experience. I am dependable, hard working, and competent. Always willing to learn something new.
I started at caterpillar in Mapleton as a ladle repairman. i was laid off in February 2020. i was recalled in March of 2020 to go work at the Morton logistics facility. I was there until November of 2020. while in Morton I worked as an order picker in the high rise. I used a computer as a guide to pick parts from a conveyor that delivered parts to my work station where i counted and packaged parts to be sent to customers and other logistics facility. I was good at the job, getting quota most days and very few claims. i transferred back to Mapleton because i preferred manufacturing better and enjoyed working in the foundry more. As a ladle repairman I have a done a little bit of everything having to do with the melting process and delivery of it to the rest of the facility pour zones. My main job being making sure the pour zones have clean and safe ladles. I chip, patch, and mud them. When they are no longer usable knock them out and recast them. I'm also responsible for maintaining and relining holders and crucibles. I have always made sure to chip in and do my fair share while learning how to do things I have never done like operate heavy machinery and operating over head cranes.
As a shop foreman i had a lot of responsibilities. i was responsible for making sure the crews had all of the supplies and filters they needed. When co workers called in or took time off i would cover them. Cleaned kitchen exhaust systems using a pressure washer and heavy duty degreasers. When customers were unhappy or had a problem i would go out and try to resolve the issue. I was in charge of safety and making sure we were osha compliant. i took care of the grounds and building while cleaning and working on equipment like pressure washers and vehicles. i did too many things too list. Feel free to ask.
As an installer and crew leader i performed a variety of insulation applications. i blew fiberglass and cellulose in attics, walls, even underneath mobile home floors. Made heated spaces air tight and properly ventilated. install batt insulation and even spray foam. At times would work with up to 6 guys at a job site and be responsible for everything. worked in very hot and cold conditions and kinds of weather, adapting to the elements. I also fixed machinery when it would break to get the job done. i did to much to list feel free to ask for more.
