I assist my husband on shed builds and assure each project is successfully completed. I am required to lift upwards of 150lbs or more during each installation (transport of all materials to jobsite, lifting, and stabilization of walls until they are secured in place). Our portfolio includes a variety of builds ranging from small 4 x 8 sheds to larger 16 x 32 sheds. I am experienced in framing sheds from scratch, and building both gable and gambrel styles. I am proficient at caulking and painting, installing trim work, and assuring each shed passes inspection. I understand basic roofing principles and know proper installation of different building materials such as roof decking, Hardie Engineered Siding, studs, trusses, flooring, leveling, etc. I have also installed several buildings on concrete and assisted in anchoring them to code standards. I am also well versed in reading Architectural blueprints and creating them.
This was a required Internship during my course of study at the University of the Incarnate Word to obtain my BA in Environmental Interior Design. My responsibilities entailed assisting my boss as an apprentice Project Manager and Interior Designer and accompanying her to job sites. As an Interior Designer I was responsible for the complete planning and allocations of interior spaces in Residential and Commercial buildings. I provided computer- aided drafting skills and transcribed the boundaries of a plotted lot to enable the move of a historical home on to the property. I assisted my boss on construction sites to inspect work performed by sub-contractors and to assure delivery of project materials. I also helped to transport large furniture and project materials and manually register them in the company warehouse. I was also given the responsibility of writing legal clauses, professional contracts, and for the collection and delivery of large sums of money.
