Cat Technician
Daily Cat Care:
Cleaning and sanitizing kennels, cages, and common areas to maintain a hygienic environment.
Feeding cats according to dietary requirements and schedules.
Monitoring water levels and ensuring fresh, clean water is always available.
Health Monitoring:
Observing cats for signs of illness, injury, or behavioral changes.
Administering medications, vaccines, or treatments as directed by a veterinarian.
Assisting with routine health checks, parasite control, and grooming.
Enrichment and Socialization:
Providing mental stimulation and physical activity through play, toys, and human interaction.
Socializing shy or nervous cats to help them adjust to the shelter environment and prepare for adoption.
Adoption Support:
Assisting potential adopters by sharing information about individual cats’ personalities, needs, and care requirements.
Helping match adopters with suitable cats and guiding them through the adoption process.
Facility Maintenance:
Restocking supplies such as litter, food, and cleaning materials.
Reporting maintenance issues to ensure a safe and functional environment.
Collaboration and Communication:
Working closely with fellow staff and volunteers to ensure the smooth operation of the shelter.
Communicating effectively with managers, and adopters regarding the needs and conditions of the cats.
Record Keeping:
Maintaining accurate records of medical treatments, behavioral observations, and adoption updates.
Emergency Response:
Responding quickly and calmly to emergencies, such as medical incidents.
