Transportation Manager
· Build and maintain driver relationships through understanding and meeting driver needs.
· Assist Drivers with home time, payroll, equipment breakdowns, logging violations, safety and equipment issues.
· Screening applicants for recruiting.
· Assist with new employee on boarding and ensuring all pre employment documents are accurate (CDL, Physical, Drug Test, etc)
· Provide ongoing guidance to employees ensuring adherence to all training, company policies, regulations and laws.
· Knowledge of AS400 and communicating with drivers through it.
· Assigning drivers to loads by optimizing load information such as origination, destination, type of freight, number of miles, stops, directions, etc. with driver needs and availability.
· Troubleshoot daily challenges for both customers and professional drivers
· Answers emails from internal associates and troubleshoots any problems with load status, trailer availability, and all other clerical concerns
· Coordinate pickups and deliveries with vendors and drivers.
· Verifies items shipped by matching bills of lading, reconciling quantities, and noting discrepancies.
