  • Learning critical community organizing skills in petitioning, lobbying, and navigating the NYC political landscape such as phone banking, flyering, and door-to-door.
  • Developed strategies to advocate for equitable education for marginalized communities in New York City
  • Base building by setting up a hot chocolate stand in Harlem and Brooklyn to inform constituents about taxing the one percent and how it can improve our city's infrastructure.
  • Organized a group of people to attend Lobby Day in Albany, NY. A weekly meeting of legislators who create policy. I called my district representatives to set up meetings to advocate for universal childcare.

Worked with a team to research and construct an open-access educational product and lesson plan

  • Created and executed a lesson plan on Afro-Mexican history titled "From Yanga to La Bamba": An Introspection on Afro-Mexican History Through the Science of Music and Maroonage.d Maroonage.
  • Collaborated with a librarian and a Mexican historian for resources to create the educational tool and map a history timeline.
  • I used my musical understanding of instrumentation and performance to connect cross-cultural points and formed a cohesive Afro-diaspora education plan relevant to the Black experience.

Lead Vocalist

  • 2021- Toured internationally, performing in Europe and Asia as the lead vocalist for Dezron Douglas Jazz Quartet. Performing an array of Jazz standards and original compositions.
  • 2020 -Led a grassroots fundraiser for a short film I directed in Ghana titled "Silka." With crowdfunding, I was able to hire local communities to work on set-building backdrops, actors, and traditional dancers.
  • 2024 Released my solo musical project "Silka." A 9-piece work of original compositions. Scheduled studio sessions and arranged over 24 NYC musicians with an emphasis on Black women writers. Crowdfunded to complete the mixing and mastering.
