  • Processes requests from nursing units, testing departments and the dispatch/scheduling coordinator to transport patients via requested mode of transport and utilizing requested safety devices and/or personal protective gear as needed; confirms patient identity and destination department and assists unit staff as directed in the transfer of patient to/from bed manually or using specified transfer devices; transports patients to/from nursing and ancillary departments.

Delivers blood products as requested using lab safety procedures.
  • Manages and distributes centralized equipment as required including wheelchairs, stretchers, infusion pumps and specialized transport devices. Routinely and periodically cleans, inventories and deploys assigned department and centralized equipment and tags and removes from service all defective equipment as required.
