The Rail Station Manager supervises rapid transit employees engaged in station operations and customer service. They ensure the safe and efficient operation of rail station services, facilities and enforces the Authority’s rules and regulations. Additionally, the incumbent maintains and demonstrates exemplary customer relation skills, manages station equipment failures, responds to station emergencies, and performs other special assignments.
• Demonstrated knowledge of the Authority's Metrorail system including stations, train routes, points of interest, some bus routes and overall operation of the rail system.
• Knowledge of and ability to understand and adhere to established policies, rules, regulations, and union labor contracts.
• Knowledge of laws, ordinances, collective bargaining agreements, policies and regulations that impact station operations.
• Knowledge of personnel administration.
• Skill in coordinating and initiating actions necessary to implement decisions and delegate responsibilities to appropriate personnel.
• Skill in establishing and maintaining priorities in order to complete assignments by deadlines without detailed instructions.
• Skill in verifying the accuracy and completeness of operational forms and reports.
