Assisted running diagnostic tests and informed providers of results in a timely fashion and of alert values promptly
Takes care of outsourced specimens according to lab requirements including but not limited to: spinning and separating specimens, matching specimens to requisitions, sending to appropriate labs for processing, placing specimens in the correct boxes for pick up, and checking that specimens were picked up accordingly
Ensured that results are transmitted and found in the patient’s EMR
Checked laboratory inventory for stock and expiration dates
Maintained, prepared and cleaned the laboratory
Answers phone calls and responds to mail regarding laboratory related issues
Dermatology: Assist Physician with punch and scrape biopsies
Prepared and review patient charts at least 24 hours prior to the patient's appointment
Organized exam rooms, including general cleaning, upkeep, and re-stocking of supplies
Performed administrative tasks, including form completions, prescription refills, referrals and patient educational material
Demonstrates appropriate hand washing technique to insure proper infection control and follows universal precautions
Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/healthcare errors
Manages autoclave and cleaning instruments for Dermatology
Obtained prior authorizations and lab work/medication
Assisted in the ordering, receiving, and stocking of office supplies
Internal Medicine: Recorded vital signs including pulse rate, blood pressure, height and weight, and preparing specimens for lab
Assisted Physicians with patient office visits which include, rooming patients, scribes note for Physicians and obtained vital sign
Urgent Care & Pediatrics: Retrieve laboratory and ancillary test results from the computer, email or fax reports
Perform EKG and audio-visual testing and conduct tests (Urinalysis, Rapid Strep/Flu, and Glucose testing)
Discharged patients from the room reinforcing insgruction
Applying or removal of sutures, dressings, cast, splints and other devices as per the directions of a provider.
