Keeping track of events that happen throughout the shift and document them in the AF Form 3616, as well as identify and determine operational requirements and impose airfield restrictions as needed.
Conducting airfield inspections and checks as needed throughout the shift.
Conducting construction checks and ensuring construction equipment is properly stored and equipment is properly lit and marked.
Conducting nightly lighting checks of the airfield lights to ensure they are in service, and if they are not contacting the appropriate agencies to make sure they are fixed in a timely manner.
Process flight plans and other air traffic data related through the national and international air traffic systems.
Executing Operating Instructions or Quick Reaction Checklists if necessary in the event of an emergency.
Tracks arriving/departing aircraft; reacts and coordinates airfield emergency response and initiates overdue aircraft actions if necessary.
Maintaining maps, publications, and flight planning room equipment.
Ensuring those driving on the airfield have appropriate documentation to verify they are qualified to drive on the flight line.
Accepting or denying prior permission requests (PPR) from transient aircraft.
Implements repairs for identified pavement discrepancies.
