Why I'm a Good Fit

  • I am a avid hunter and angler and have always wished to work in a setting that puts me in the woods or on the water. I do dozens of fishing trips a year offshore and have acquired hundreds of hours of boating time. I am very knowledgeable of fish species identification and regulations. I also have hundreds of hours of hunting experience especially deer hunting as I was a deer processor for several years and learned a lot about the sport and the community around it.
  • While in the Police explorers program I excelled with the training provided to use through the Concord Police Department and the Cabarrus County Sheriffs Department. There we received basic law enforcement training and practiced many scenarios such as traffic stops, search and rescues, building searches, wreck booking, and more. I did this for 3 years and left with a great deal of training and a strong desire to pursue a law enforcement career after finishing college.
  • As a criminologist, I have acquired a deep understanding of criminal behavior, law enforcement practices, and investigative techniques. These skills are directly applicable to the field of wildlife conservation and protection. Wildlife Officers play a vital role in enforcing wildlife laws, preventing illegal hunting and poaching, and investigating wildlife-related crimes. With my knowledge of criminology, I am able to analyze and understand the motivations behind these activities, identify patterns, and develop effective strategies to combat them.
  • My critical thinking and problem-solving skills, honed during my criminology degree, prove invaluable when dealing with the complex issues faced in the field. From tackling wildlife trafficking to addressing habitat destruction, I am equipped to navigate and resolve intricate challenges that threaten our natural environment.
  • My Bachelor's degree in Criminology empowers me to contribute significantly to the conservation and preservation of wildlife as a Wildlife Officer. With a profound understanding of criminal behavior, law enforcement techniques, and investigative practices, I am well-prepared to enforce wildlife laws, prevent illegal activities, and safeguard our precious natural resources.
