I am a professional saxophonist and clarinetist with a strong passion for jazz, music theory, ear training, and teaching. I have been a musician since I was 12 years old, starting on the clarinet and quickly moving to the tenor saxophone. Once I discovered jazz in high school my love for music skyrocketed and I became dedicated to being the best musician I could. In 2016 I attended Manhattan School of Music, graduating with my Bachelor of Music degree in 2020. I moved back to Asheville due to Covid, and once things started opening up I starting gigging around town. I have played at many local venues, including Isis Music Hall, Grey Eagle, Static Age, Wicked Weed Funkatorium, One World Brewery, and Little Jumbo. In 2023 I was fortunate to play in the Glenn Miller Orchestra. I occasionally play at the Biltmore with a gypsy jazz group. I am also a member of the Emerald Empire Band, a large pool of musicians who get contracted for corporate events and weddings. I am currently working at Music & Arts, tutoring about 10 students. I also work part time with an architect who is teaching me the basics of residential architecture, drafting, autoCad programs, and more. I would love to find more passionate saxophone or clarinet students that want to learn!
I give lessons to saxophone and clarinet players at Music & Arts. I help my students in all aspects of music from fundamental techniques to more advanced ear training, musical theory, and jazz improvisation. With the majority of my students being beginners, I feel that my biggest responsibility is to make music fun and exciting for them.
Since I moved back to Asheville in 2020 I have been playing gigs around town. I am a member of a few bands including a gypsy jazz group, and a wedding/event band called Emerald Empire. I am currently working on creating a band to perform and record my own compostions and some of my favorite jazz compositions.
My main responsibility at Moog was to carefully pack up synthesizers, bring them to the warehouse, label and organize them based on where they were being shipped. I also brought building materials from the warehouse and dispersed them to various stations of the factory.
