  • This was a seasonal opportunity in which I worked two seasons in the flowchain area.
  • I was trained to drive lifts in the manner in which they are used at Miller Coors.
  • The use of collapse forks is used to pick up one or two pallets at a time driven in reverse to the products' pre-determined location.
  • Driving into trailers with the product and placing it properly without damaging it was well versed.
  • The inspection of new trailers and the close-out of completed trailers was also the primary focus for new flow chain operators.
  • Industrial Truck and Tractor Operators, I loaded trucks with product I pulled from the palletizer or location bin.
  • When there were no trucks to be loaded, I pulled pallets from North and South side palletizers to keep production lines running at all times.
  • I set up trailers to loaded with the correct dunnage for the load and cross-checked trailer numbers and pallet count to see if the pallet count was correct so the load would fit and be the popper weight.

  • As a brewery worker I was responsible for aging CIP's and exhausting tanks to be cleaned and inspected.
  • If the tank needed repair I would LOTO the tank and prepare the rope rescue team for a confined space entry.
  • This required a hot work permit, and notifying security of what we were doing and what cellar we were in.
  • We as a crew would gather all the tools, safety equipment, oxygen tanks, 5-gas meters, safety harnesses, and anything else needed to do the specific tank safely.
  • I would stand as a fire watch after the work was done for an hour or more until a fire risk was no longer an issue.
  • After the patches to the tank were cured, we would remove all the curing lights and CIP the newly repaired tank and release it back to be used for brewing operations.

  • I would package all the yogurt, milk, and eggs in crush proof containers.
  • The dairy or protein portion was mated with the meat for the order, and placed in the coldest part of the insulated package during production.

  • I gathered the batch formula from the folder outside my blending cell.
  • I used a hi-reach forklift to pull the ingredients from the inventory racks, I would check the ingredient pallet against the batch ingredient sheet.
  • Then I would place my ingredients in the blending cell above.
  • I would get the proper sized sifter screen from the batch sheets and assembled the sifter, and close the knife gate on the blender.
  • I would mix the ingredients according to the batch sheets, then pull a small sample for quality control.
  • I would the split the batch into two large metal totes, 2200 kilos was the max weight for each tote.
  • I would label the totes, enter the weight and store them in the proper location.
  • I would return to my blend cell to clean and sanitize the blender and the whole room, due to allergens in the products, and prepare for my next batch.

  • Some ingredients could be mixed together, to make it easier on the mixer, and I would do that for them also.
  • I would have to take samples to the QA for quality assurance checks on every batch that was made before we could send the batch tot he line to be packaged.
  • At the end of the day I would return all ingredients, re-weigh them and scan them back into inventory for the next day.

  • It included hooking up HTST lines and silo's from CIP.
  • I would them hook up the batch room wall tanks and cream tanks.
  • Then it would be time for supplies: powdered milk, Sucrose, corn syrup, emulsifier.
  • I would produce batch sheets for production tracking purposes and list my ingredients and begin to batch.
  • I transferred each finished batch to a milk press for pasteurization, and then to the awaiting silos.
