I have been privileged to teach for 11 years and counting, and I am truly passionate about doing everything I can to help students get up and moving. My heartfelt goal has always been to build meaningful relationships and create opportunities that go beyond the classroom, inspiring my students to not just succeed academically but to thrive in every aspect of their lives.

The 2025 Outstanding Elementary Teacher Award recognizes elementary teachers who demonstrate dedication, commitment, and the ability to propel students to high levels of success. The recipients meet students' individual needs, foster talent, instill a desire to learn, and nurture cooperative relationships among colleagues and the community. Any FCPS employee or community member may nominate teachers with at least three full years of experience for this award.

Winners are chosen based on, but not limited to, their voluntary positive impact on a person or community. Nominated by Nitro Elementary for student, staff, and community connection and engagement in a variety of health and physical activities (Jump Rope for Heart, Commit 2B Fit, Color Runs, after-school clubs, community walks, and 5K races).
