Jason Hackney

Currently hold the position of Quality Control Supervisor at Knife River Midwest, located in Sioux City Iowa. I am responsible for supervising and leading a team of four Quality Control inspectors. This requires daily oversight, training, communication, guidance, accountability and safety. Our team is responsible for providing accurate test results to state, county and city officials on a daily basis from our HMA, PCC and Crushing projects and operations. Responsible for producing and submitting HMA Mix Designs for the Portable and Commercial Asphalt crews based off of projected project schedules. Operate and maintain all laboratory testing equipment, submit daily time reporting of personnel, monitor job progress and costs using HCSS software, proficient in Outlook, Microsoft Excel and HCSS. I work well with all areas of operation at Knife River to help our team provide a safe, quality, efficient and effective product to our customers. I have helped in the development of my team members by utilizing the professional development and training opportunities that Knife River has provided. I have been involved in many areas of operation at Knife River, from operating skid loader, excavator, and loader. To helping load trucks, stacking concrete, tearing down RAP so the asphalt plant can continue to run, to installing sprinkler water lines for the new concrete plant, to daily testing of products to building our new portable lab trailer. I am willing to work with anyone, anywhere to assure the success of whatever the project may be and ultimately Knife River.

I provided daily, weekly and monthly test results and reports for all performance graded asphalt binder, cutback asphalt, emulsion and burner fuel products being made or shipped to various construction projects throughout multiple states. Maintained all lab equipment for proper operation. Helped in the design and construction of the Jebro lab remodel.
