Jason Hurst

• Total Rebuild. Took over a program that had gone 4-17 in 2024. This year made the playoffs and had a huge upset in round 1. Won 11 games.
• Set and managed clear and effective recruitment policy to locate and secure strong players.
• Developed players'' skills through targeted practice sessions and individualized feedback, leading to improved game results.
• Renewed the energy and optimism of the entire baseball program. Was Varsity Head Coach, but oversaw all operations for Middle School, and JV team.

• Managed day-to-day business operations.
• Operated and ran a baseball facility, and up to 6 travel teams. Was the head coach of the 18U team which sent over 50 kids to college baseball.
• Put on regular camps and clinics. Scheduled lessons for other coaches and performed lessons myself.
• Ran the ABC Fall League for middle school and high school players in the Dothan and Panhandle area.

• Collaborated with other coaches to share best practices, techniques, and insights for overall program improvement.
• Bench coach is considered the 2nd in command in Professional baseball. I managed 9 games due to ejections and sickness.
• Coached 3rd base, and handled defensive alignments. Was liaison between players and manager.
• Manager was 7 year big league pitcher Les Lancaster, so I was in charge of the day to day of the positional players.
• Helped scout and sign numerous players, as well as having to have the tough conversations of cutting players.

• Collaborated with coaching staff to recruit talented athletes, building a competitive roster.
• Coached the Hitters and Outfielders. Helped team hit over .300 every year.
• Coached first base and was able to bring in impact players.

-Was a total rebuild job. Took an 0-10 football team that had been outscored 579-62.

-In year one went 4-6 and took offensive TD's from 6 to 36. Increased roster size from 24 to 47.

-Led the push for school to move into the AHSA where we went 5-5 and were in the top 5 in almost every offensive category.

-Brought back JV and started a youth program. School football participation grew almost 400% during my time there.

-Was assistant baseball coach to long time MLB player Mike Mordecai.

• Organized and led practices and scrimmages to increase competitive attitude and skills.
• Maintained strong relationships with athletes, parents, and school administrators for program support and success.
• Fostered a positive team environment with clear communication and motivational techniques.
• Was the Head Football and Head Baseball Coach. Won a State Championship in each, and was named "Coach of the Year" 3 times.

• Evaluated the effectiveness of training initiatives by tracking participant progress and gathering feedback for continuous improvement.
• Worked with Major League players everyday on their Dynamic Visual Acuity (ability to track objects in motion)
• Threw BP hit fungoes.
• Worked directly under the hitting coach Derek Shelton, who is now the manager of the Pittsburg Pirates.
• This was a Major League job. I worked with the big league team in Tampa everyday.

• Was 1st team All Conference at Georgia Southern University for Coach Rodney Hennon, as well as Team Captain sr year. Have numerous offensive records, including a career .380 Batting Average. Good for 2nd in GSU history.
• Signed free agent contract with Boston Red Sox by scout Rob English.
• Played for numerous different professional teams and leagues over the next four seasons including: The Frontier League, CanAm League, American Association, and The South Coast League.
