  • I began working at Arbor Academy in 2017, and I’ve been responsible for onboarding hundreds of new students to our student information system as well as handling the transfer of data when we switched to a new system last in the fall of 2024.
  • Until our switch from the Synergy Student Information System to PowerSchool, I overtook the task of handling our quarterly data collation and upload to the state-run Michigan Student Data System and cut it down from a three-hour event with support from IT to something that could be completed in under half an hour from my desk.
  • I handle the daily attendance collection for hundreds of students and stay on top of altering their status depending on whether they’re excused for being sick or traveling, arrive late in the day due to appointments, or go home early.
  • I regularly have to pull relevant data for hundreds of students from multiple sources to collate in rosters for external companies regarding events like state-provided dental exams, hearing and vision screenings, and our picture day. Each company had its own specific information requirements and formatting preferences.
  • I am responsible for coordinating with our school’s social worker, SPED service providers, and speech therapist through emails to prep for their arrivals in the early autumn and then regularly in person to make sure they all have the necessary schedules and room requirements they need to operate without overlapping and interfering with each other’s work.
  • I am frequently responsible for proofing or even drafting schoolwide correspondence. I’m entrusted with recreating or re-formatting old documents with no digital version and turning four or five page packet into a neater, more comprehensive two-page document. I’ve also been in charge of streamlining outdated spreadsheets to make them leaner and more efficiently organized.
  • I am comfortable and experienced using security cameras’ operational servers and navigating multiple feeds to track singular events and multiple subjects.
  • I interface face-to-face with dozens of staff daily and anywhere from half a dozen to dozens of parents and students on a daily basis, always ensuring that they’re positive experiences.
  • I field dozens of ingoing and outgoing calls a day handling staff and parent questions about bus scheduling, class sizes, lost items, sick students, substitute coverage, shuffling support staff, organizing extracurricular events, tracking student locations and parental preferences for transportation, and ensuring our consultants see their students in a timely fashion.
  • I've overseen maintenance requests for the school's facilities and grounds.
  • Every year I help coordinate and receive the staff's classroom supplies and track their orders, copy receipts, and unload their packages.
