Accomplishments

Earned and awarded many military declarations to include achievement and expeditionary medals for valor as well as timely decisions and actions leading to soldiers' lives saved.


Many awards during police career for exceptional service, bravery and life saving. Recipient of the 2019 Omaha Police Officer of the year award for locating, landing and pulling a drowning man from a flooded river. The man was not ambulatory due to his injuries but was carried to the helicopter and flown by Officer Messerschidt to an awaiting ambulance in a non-flooded area for transport.
