  • Flux core welding on magnetized steel furnaces, elbows and roofs for a steel mill(BRS)
  • Work with teammates to fix, fabricate and maintain furnaces, elbows and roofs.
  • Fixing consists of cutting out sections of the hot faces replacing with new to-fit, replacing decks, fumes holes and alloy chutes with new
  • Fabricating jigs to help expedite the maintenance these units. Fabricating new doors to replace old or poor design doors, or updating these units with new updated parts to replace old parts as BRS calls for the new changes to evolve the metal process for betterment.
  • Maintaining sprayer nozzles and spray bars or the different components in the actual heaters
  • Part of System work takes place inside the mill, whet we will swap out furnaces and roofs. Stick welding during small shut down happens often, fixing cracks and working on small patches
  • Daily use of an overhead crane and/or yard forklift was necessary
  • Working to keep the shop clean and free of trip hazards

  • During this time I had a large sum of money saved up for new construction on my camper
  • New construction consisted of ripping off the whole front cap and rebuild the cap frame, insulating the walls in the bedroom and cap- wall, redecking the floor and walls in the bedroom. I built new concept walls for the bathroom, changing it from an open floor to an enclosed bathroom. I insulated the undercarriage as well
  • During construction I also worked on side jobs to keep the money flowing
  • I worked several tree removal jobs for various people who need tree work done on their property
  • I also work on several welding/fabricating jobs during this time
