- Measure and cut insulation for covering surfaces, using tape measures, handsaws, knives, and scissors. Apply, remove, and repair insulation on industrial equipment, pipes, ductwork, or other mechanical systems such as heat exchangers, tanks, and vessels, to help control noise and maintain temperatures.
