- The Petaluma Wildlife Museum is the only student-run museum in the entire state.
- The museum's mission is to inspire the next generation of conservationists through practical environmental education and preservation.
- As a docent, my job is to teach students and the public about wildlife conservation and preservation.
- Developed strong rapport with colleagues, fostering trust and open communication.
- Docents are required to consistently give presentations on animal ambassadors to groups of people, ranging from kindergarteners to adults.
- Being a docent requires interpersonal skills, presentation skills, and the ability to interact with many people of different backgrounds and personalities
- Will be continuing this role next year as a lead docent, selected by my advisor and current lead docents.
- Lead docents are tasked with the same requirements as regular docents, but must exemplify a major role in leadership, who are willing to step up to challenging tasks and cover for others without hesitation
