In 2020 I received a grateful acknowledgement plaque for my three years of service and dedication with my continued work, as a camp counselor, with the children at Camp Hodia. This a yearly week long camp for children with type 1 diabetes. I attended this camp as a child as well. We teach them the best ways of managing this disease by teaching them the best foods to eat, what to do if your blood sugar level goes low or high, how do a glucose test to determine your blood sugar, what those numbers mean, how do deal with it and how to administer their own insulin shot. I've continued my volunteer work with this organization every year & hope to continue this fulfilling work in the years to come.
