Results-driven Staff Lieutenant with extensive experience in criminal investigation, team leadership, and program coordination. Proven ability to oversee joint investigations for operational success.
Over the past 28 years, I have been exposed to all different types of investigations. Being a Texas State Trooper, I was involved in many cases that crossed county and state jurisdictions, from human trafficking to the transportation of illegal narcotics. As a Highway Patrol Sergeant, I supervised Troopers at home and at the Texas/Mexico Border. Over the past 13 years as a Texas Ranger, I have been involved in a wide variety of investigations from multimillion-dollar embezzlements to Capital Murders to International child pornography investigations. I have been able to travel across the country and have firsthand knowledge of how different agencies investigate different types of crimes and the policies and rules that assist and hamper those agencies' ability to investigate said crimes. Over the past 4 years, I have been involved in the Texas Ranger Unsolved Crime Investigation Program and the Texas Ranger SAKI program. I have been involved in complex death and cold case investigations. I have had the opportunity to coordinate multi-jurisdictional cold case investigations that involved in-state and out-of-state agencies. I have attended hundreds of hours of training reference FGG including the FBI Genealogy course. During this time, I have assisted out-of-state agencies with multiple DNA collections and interviews for their FGG program. I have been able to bring to a conclusion several unsolved serial rapist cases and cold case homicides through the FGG process. I have been able to work with genealogists, forensic scientists, and private companies, and have gained enough knowledge to see what could be done to bring all three groups together to solve more cases. I would bring that unique perspective as the Grant Coordinator.
