Work History

Tooling Manager

Fisher Dynamic
01.2016 - Current
  • Re-built and repaired transfer dies along with progressive dies, working closely with upper management, engineering and the quality department to address the quality issues and to improve on the repair of the tools. Currently working on trim changes without solid model data so they were performed by welding and shooting the steels and then flex-arm or form grinding to the new information given, Once completed the die sections were sent out for scan for solid data.
  • I had the opportunity to be promoted to Tooling Manager. I oversee and manage all 3 shifts of skilled trades. I handle all out sourcing of repair work and die crashes that exceeds our machine departments capabilities. Also schedule Pm's of tooling and all die improvements to improve on part quality and down time. Most of my time is spent on the floor helping with day to day tooling issues and productions problems. When not on the floor Im in the office approving P.O. for cost effectiveness while trying to stay in budget.

Die Leader - Die Maker - Forman

D & N Bending
10.2013 - 01.2016
  • Oversee the day to day operations of the tool room and lead all aspects of the completion of line dies and prototype dies for class A metal stamping. Also supported the roll mill department with new cut off and pre-notch dies for production. The tool room also supported 5 other facilities within the company for tool repair and special machine build. All of the tool build and repair work was prioritized to meet very tight and demanding deadlines.

Die Leader - Die Maker - Die Repair

Arnold Tool & Die
01.2011 - 10.2013
  • Worked in all aspects of processing progressive die details for Die assembly. My duties were to lead the new die build. From tryout to a runoff with the die to meet the customer expectations. Along with doing tool repair both in and out of the presses to help with production requirements.

Die Maker - Die Tryout

Hercules Tool & Die
06.2010 - 01.2011
  • Preformed tryout on draw, pierce, trim and re-strike dies for class A body side both inner and outer panels. I also did class A spotting, trim changes, hole moves, and form changes.

Die Repair Leader-Die Maker

Proto-Gage
03.2007 - 06.2010
  • Was the A team leader over a line of progressive dies. This included making sure dies where ready for change over and making sure all of the perishable tooling was sharpened and ready to go in the dies in the event of dulled or damaged sections. Also ordering any spare die sections that need to be replaced.

Forman - Die Maker

M & H Precision
04.1996 - 03.2007
  • Served in a Tool & Die apprenticeship, with the opportunity to learn all the aspects of tool and die making from very experienced and skilled journeyman for whom I'm grateful for! Started off as a machinist then was promoted to machinist leader, was given the chance for advancement as a die helper to die maker, then die leader and later as a tool room Forman. We were just a build shop with 2 presses for tryout, no production.
