During my time at Eastman Chemical as a welding intern, I gained valuable experience in making X-ray-quality welds on a wide range of materials using many different processes.

Key Contributions

• I worked closely with my team to ensure quality, safety, and reliability, building strong interpersonal skills.
• I gained experience welding on stainless steel, boiler tube, inconel, hastelloy, and titanium pipe.

As an adjunct instructor for the Henderson High School dual credit program, I was able to reciprocate information that is crucial to making good-looking sound welds. This opportunity allowed for me to gain valuable experience in leadership qualities and an understanding of what it takes to run an efficient group.

Key Contributions:

• Led welding operations and reviewed welds made.
• Used my experience to correct and improve students' welds.

At CPI I gained valuable experience in using geometry to fabricate parts. I was expected to pass welding inspections on each part and was appointed specialty panels to weld out. I maintained a good relationship with fellow employees and worked with others to complete group tasks.

• Used knowledge from my degree to solve complex problems as they arose.
• Passed all production inspections on welded panels.

I attended Kilgore College, where I worked diligently in the welding shop to improve my skills. I was appointed shop manager to gain valuable experience in leading small groups. I worked my way through SMAW, MIG, FCAW, and pipe welding to finish my time in college. I also gained introductory knowledge in metallurgy and fabrication.

• Earned a 4.0 GPA (Presidential Honors)
• Advised small groups on welding-related topics.
• Completed an internship before returning for my final semester.
