Volunteer Experience

  • Rosemont Baptist Church, Missions are very special to me and my church and I cherish having the privilege of serving our local community and the world through my church's outreaches. I am hoping that after I graduate from nursing school to get involved in medical missions on my off days from work to reach the people in our community and around the world.
  • Mission trip to New Day Orphanage, Zambia, Africa, I had the privilege of helping care for the orphans that now live at New Day. Our team was able to also go out to the local village school and help teach classes during the week we were in Zambia. We were able to hold bible studies with the local kids that live in 'the bush' around the orphanage where we were able to feed them dinner, play with the kids, and teach them about Jesus. This mission trip was one that changed my life and I hope to return some day to provide medical services while teaching them about Jesus.
  • Camp Viola counselor (4 summers), I had the opportunity to be a camp counselor at Camp Viola for four summers. This camp is for the underprivileged kids in LaGrange and the surrounding areas. I got to build relationships with these children while teaching them the love God has for them.
  • Pine Mountain Kids Club, I was able to serve at the Pine Mountain Kids Club during what our church calls Missions LaGrange. We got to teach the kids about God while doing various activities such as arts and crafts, bible study, recreation, and snack time with the children who attended.
  • Laundromat Missions, During Missions LaGrange my church does a mission at the local laundromat where we are able to pay for the customers to do their laundry. While their laundry is going we are able to speak with them about Jesus, ask if they have any prayer requests, pray with them, and talk to them about anything they feel like sharing with us. It is a special time and I cherish those moments with the local community.
  • UWG Volunteer Work, COVID Vaccine Clinic: WellStar Acworth (4 hrs), COVID Vaccine Clinic: Tanner Get Healthy Live Well (3 hrs), Student Mentor for younger clinical lab classes, Patient presentation at The Pathways Center in Newnan, GA, Student Nurses Association
