Transferred to PACU and worked staff and evening charge nurse until I left that position to travel in February 2021.

ER Staff nurse in a busy 6 bed, Trauma Level 4, ER. Responsible for training new graduate RN's and LVN's in the care of ER patients.

Staff RN in a small 4 bed, busy rural hospital setting with advanced ICU practices. ICU also covered the PACU duties for all surgical and obstetrical procedures including C-sections.

I have been on staff full time and PRN all but 6 weeks of these years in many units and capacities. I have worked ER, ICU, and Surgery Full time and Quality Management for 6 months. I worked ER PRN and Nursery also for a while over the 20 Years of employment. 

Clinical manager. First assist in surgery for total knee, hip and shoulders and multiple other orthopedic operations. Assist in managing clinical and hospital care of all his patients.  Management of his busy orthopedic practice. Pre-op education and medical clearance for surgery for all patients scheduled for surgery. Pre-op workups for emergency patients. Coding and billing duties.

Infusion therapy clinic,  educating patients on home infusion. Certified for PICC line placement by MD Anderson Cancer Center in 1999. Care and maintenance of central lines on patients receiving home IV medications. Coding for billing and mixing of IV antibiotics for patient infusion.

Schedule and budgeting responsibilities of both units as well as coordination of education for the staff.

Staff nurse in heart transplant unit where patients move in and stay in the hospital while they are being bridged to a heart transplant while on balloon pumps,  multiple IV drips and/or LVADs. In charge of staffing schedules and working with Transplant team to follow a readiness plan for all 12 patients awaiting transplants in the unit.

Staff nurse ER Level 2 Trauma Center in New Orleans, Advanced to Charge RN in charge of the Chest Pain Center.

RN first assist in surgery harvesting vein and assisting in multiple vascular procedures. Clinical manager of pacemaker/valve coumadin clinic. Also did all the coding for surgical procedures and office work for the billing company.

Charge RN in a 48 bed multi-specialty ICU training new nurses on the post op care of open hearts.

Charge nurse 45 bed telemetry unit. Education on rhythm strips and treatment for arrhythmias for all staff.

CVICU Staff and Charge RN. This unit was strictly recovering fresh open heart surgery patients and I was trained in balloon pumps, LVAD and post  transplant care. Then transferred to the CVOR and was trained to assist for open heart procedures as a first scrub, first assist and a circulating RN in Bypass, Thoracic Aneurysm, Thoracic Trauma, Valve Replacement, and Heart Transplant and Organ Procurement. This team specialized in Coronary Bypass, Heart procurement and transplant.  

Scrub assist in surgery harvesting vein on open heart procedures and First assisting for transplants and other lung, chest and vascular procedures including but not limited to Aortic Aneurysms above and below the diaphragm, Valve replacements, Thoracic Trauma,  Heart and Kidney transplants, carotid endarterectomy and LVAD placement.

Nurse tech in CVICU. Internship program offered to Level 4 RN students going to the Diploma program at Baptist hospital to ready you for real patient care before graduation.
