As a substitute teacher in the Shelton School District, I had the opportunity to step into various classrooms and create a positive, supportive learning environment for students. I adapted quickly to different grade levels and subjects, following lesson plans while bringing my own enthusiasm and flexibility to each day.

I managed classroom behavior, engaged students in learning activities, and ensured a smooth transition in the teacher's absence. Whether leading whole-group instruction, assisting small groups, or providing one-on-one support, I worked to keep students on track, and encouraged their success.

My time as a substitute strengthened my classroom management skills, deepened my understanding of diverse learning styles, and reinforced my passion for education. Each day was a new adventure, and I loved the opportunity to make a difference in students' learning experiences!

As a school-age daycare teacher at Mt. At Olive Daycare, I had the opportunity to create a safe, engaging, and structured environment for children before and after school. I planned and led activities that encouraged creativity, teamwork, and social-emotional growth while also providing homework support and supervision during playtime.

One of the most valuable aspects of this role was the experience I gained in behavior management. I learned how to implement positive reinforcement strategies, set clear expectations, and handle conflicts with patience and consistency. By building strong relationships with the children, I was able to foster a respectful and supportive atmosphere where they felt heard and valued.

This experience helped me develop essential classroom management skills, reinforced my ability to adapt to different student needs, and deepened my passion for working with children in an educational setting!

As a student teacher in a kindergarten classroom, I had the opportunity to support young learners in their first steps of education. I worked closely with my mentor teacher to create a warm and engaging learning environment, helping to plan and lead lessons that encouraged curiosity and creativity.

I guided students through hands-on activities, reinforced early literacy and math skills, and fostered social-emotional growth through positive interactions. I also practiced classroom management techniques, adapted lessons to meet diverse needs, and provided one-on-one support when needed.

Throughout my time in the classroom, I built strong relationships with students, encouraged their love of learning, and gained invaluable experience in early childhood education. It was a rewarding experience that strengthened my passion for teaching and prepared me for my own classroom!
