Driven student architectural professional with a focus on critical thinking and team collaboration. Experienced in utilizing Rhino and SketchUp to enhance project outcomes. Committed to delivering innovative solutions in architectural design.
I am Jayla Slaughter, a third-year Architecture scholar from Jacksonville, Florida. As a student I would describe myself as resilient, adaptable, and determined. Through all the tough nights studying for exams and navigating around the challenges of adulthood, I have consistently found ways to persevere and come out better in the end. I chose to study architecture because I have always been drawn to the artistry and functionality of infrastructures. To me, buildings and structures are a baseline for establishing a scene of home and community. My goal is to provide spaces that are not only aesthetically pleasing but give people a place where they feel as though they belong. After graduation, I plan to work at an architecture firm where I will develop my design skills focused on residential and community architecture. I genuinely believe that I will be able to use my degree to make a lasting contribution to the world.
