I am a passionate graduate of The Ohio State University with a BSW in the field of Social Work. As a Licensed Social Worker I have 10 + years of experience which includes time working within the Child Welfare system, as a School-based counselor, Educational Liaison currently as a mental-health specialist. . I've grown to be an able and well rounded social worker and advocate. I pride myself on being flexible and empathic with my students/clients while adhering to my professional values and mandates.

I've thrived working with young people and have amassed skills that have helped me become confident in managing crisis and connecting with my students/client and their families. I'm a great communicator, computer proficient as well a ready to grow as a social worker and advocate who thrives in goal oriented team based work that support both growth of workers and clients rights.

School Based Social Worker

As a school based social worker through Directions, I am assigned to two separate schools where I am responsible for completing Mental Health Assessments, from which I build my caseload of clients for weekly counseling. I am also responsible for helping with crisis and deescalation as as needed. I also have established weekly groups (topics are as needed) with students as requested by my assigned principals. These groups can vary in topic. (Examples; Anger Management, Social Skills, Male Mentorship etc) As a counselor goals were established as needed and worker is able to be a bridge to the family and school to ensure progress is made.

Family Case Manager

As an ongoing FCM I was responsible for providing in-home supportive services: parenting education, counseling, etc. I was also responsible for preparing and participating in court proceedings and attain placement for children when removal from the homes became necessary. Maintain regular contact with the families and children to ensure the child safety and parents are motivated and assisted as they complete caseplan. 

Adaptive Behavior Specialist

The Adaptive Behavioral works alongside a team of dedicated childcare providers with high risk and behaviorally challenged population of children and families. The goal of the position is to work with the child to implement a behavior plan, instill civility and work with the child during times of crisis or breakdown.

 As an intern with OMK I was responsible for a large percentage of the programs marketing to attract both volunteers as well as participants. I was responsible for aiding in the growth and management of volunteers. I was able to witness and observe different styles of each social worker as they held sessions with clients. Later into my internship I was able to given the responsibility of a case of my own which led into the transition of me being hired onto the program.
