Jean Glodi

My name is Jean Glodi. I am originally from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, which it is situated in Central Africa. I speak four languages that are French, Swahili, Lingala, and English. I left Congo (DRC) at the age of 18 years to come to the U.S. so that I can learn more skills and use those skill in a later future. I graduated on June 9, 2013, from East Chapel Hill High School. After graduation, I’ve decided to save some money to go to Community College for two years because my parents didn’t have enough money to afford the four-year college tuition. Even though I had a scholarship from Montreal College, it wasn’t enough to cover the whole tuition. So then, I’ve always kept my main goal to become an accountant. Unfortunately, I couldn’t finish my Associate in Arts programs at Wake Tech because my sponsor was financially limited to keep paying for my courses while I was enrolled in the Business Administration and Human Resources Management program. However, when I’ve had lost my F-1 status which it was a document that allowed international students to be eligible to stay in the U.S. legally and be enrolled in school as well. I’ve kept myself busy learning about the industry of cars and its function. I’ve worked for Import Performance Inc for three years doing car washing, detailing, buffing, and painting. I, myself, knew that I would face challenges by washing customer cars and knowing each customer ego’s behavior. After then, I’ve dedicated my work experience as a cashier at North Durham Citgo. After two years of working as a cashier, I’ve learned so much about technology, customer behavior, and maintenance. Now, it is time to move on to something that I’ve ever done before in my life, which is housekeeping. I am diligent in putting my heart and my soul to learn about the skills that will serve me in the next generation of housekeeping fields.
