Summary

I have a passion for people and learning about their stories. As a child that was a part of the foster/adoption system I realize how important it is for these kids to feel accepted and loved. For the past 8 years I have been running the kitchen for Christ Kitchen and using my life experiences to help these marginalized women see their worth and potential.

As the supervisor for Christ Kitchen I am responsible for scheduling supply orders, scheduling kitchen staff, coordinating catering schedules, and managing needs from leadership and our customers. I believe that this opportunity through Safety Net and the Executive Director is a perfect blend of my foster care history along with my leadership experience through Christ Kitchen.

I know all too well that so many teens and young adult slip through the cracks and have never had someone in their life that believed in them. Because of my bad experience in the foster care system I know the value of seeing these teens and young adults in a loving and thriving home. Who better to work with them than someone who has been where they are at? Who better to work with the community and communicate these teens and young adults stories to help obtain additional donations and support for Safety Net?

I don’t have experience being an Executive Director but I have a lot of skills from my leadership role with Christ Kitchen that will certainly translate well. I am a harder worker and quick learner who is ready to jump in and help further the mission of Safety Net.

Responsible for training women who have been through very traumatic life situations, on how a commercial kitchen operates, so that they are employable elsewhere
Oversee kitchen employees and volunteers ensuring everyone has a task to do based off their capabilities and understanding each woman is different in the way they learn and receive constructive criticism.
Supervised the grill, stove, and oven, and cleaned equipment after every shift.
Trained new team members on kitchen procedures, safety protocols, and company standards.
Monitored daily food production levels to maintain appropriate stock levels while avoiding overproduction or shortages.
