Chiropractic physician with Dr. Halegua as the mentor which is an Integrative Healthcare Facility that utilizes all approaches of healthcare from chiropractic, physical therapy, massage therapy, nerve conduction testing, electromagnetic resonance testing, trigger point injections, radiology, medically supervised neurology studies. I was responsible for the chiropractic and medical clinician responsibilities of adjusting patients, taking and reviewing radiology, running nerve scans and neurology testing, consultations and advice, diagnosing, treating, and referring if needed. Working with Dr. Halegua has helped me to become very familiar with medicare, medicaid, diverse insurance policies, as well as cash patients. I was responsible for doing initial exams, formulating treatment plans, and aiding patients throughout their rehabilitation with chiropractic care and other modalities. I take xrays on every patients and do all my own x-ray reports, as well as report these findings to the patients during their consultation. I also spent a substantial amount of time with the marketing department in order to aid them in being more productive in marketing the services at Dr. Haleguas office.
Preceptorship experience obtained for my 10th and final trimester at Cleveland Chiropractic College. During this preceptorship I was responsible for doing extensive patient physical exams including review of systems, physical and neurological testing, x-rays, diagnosis, and preparing patient treatment plans. I spent adequate time treating patient with chiropractic adjustment techniques utilizing diversified, gonstead, and pettibon. I also was allowed to use many of the soft tissue techniques that I have been licensed in, rehabilitation exercise programs, and nutrition advise for enhancing the patient experience and care. I was trained how to effectively communicate with patients and the community while maintaining an empathetic understanding of patient care and circumstances. I was exposed to many community interaction, screenings, and practice patient workshops to enhance my communication to the highest abilities. I effectively learned many responsibilities of business leadership through understanding EHR systems, insurance reimbursement, Medicare and Medicaid, marketing, promotions, and budgeting on a monthly and weekly basis. This preceptorship experience definitely exposed me to the real world of chiropractic practice, and sufficiently prepared me for utilizing and expanding my skills as a doctor to successfully serve patients to the best of my abilities in the future.
