Seasoned Mental Health Counselor with 22 years experience. Initially worked with adults, adolescents and couples in outpatient setting providing both individual and group therapy. Took phone calls from individuals who were seeking information as well as persons who in crises. Referred to appropriate providers if the outpatient services were needed. Facilitated admission to inpatient unit if necessary - worked with inpatient staff to assure a smooth transition. Assessed medical patients who were exhibiting mental health crises and aided the nursing staff in formulating plans to reduce the impact of the crises on the patients' physical condition. Evaluated patients in the emergency room to determine the need for mental health services and to assure the safety of both the patient and staff.
