After graduating nurse school with honors I signed on as a nurse resident in a 6 month program that required all new ICU RNs to orient through all of the hospitals ICUs. After just 7 short months I was asked to be relief charge and work as the MET [Medical Emergency Team] Nurse by the critical care manager. After accepting this position I took on educating staff on various things. ie Hypothermia Protocol care & management, CAUTI prevention, management and education as well as a CRRT providor and educator. I would not be the nurse I am today had I not received the excelled education and guidance I did during this program.
