I implemented a periop 101 program, and cross trained RNs to scrub. All policy and procedures were updated and brought in line with standards of practice for the OR, pre/post-op, and GI lab. An infusion service was started to accommodate the community for infusions so they were not required to drive over 100 miles to Bismarck. Equipment was updated that was past the end of life including colonoscopes which frequently failed during procedures.
